My Favorite Wedding Venues in Barcelona

Hotel Miramar | Barcelona
Hotel Miramar is one of the most spectacular Barcelona wedding venues I’ve worked at. Perched on Montjuïc hill, it offers stunning panoramic views of the port and the entire city of Barcelona. The ceremony takes place outdoors under ancient trees, with the Mediterranean Sea stretching out behind you – it’s absolutely breathtaking.
I’ve photographed several weddings here, and the golden hour light is simply magical. The hotel’s team is professional and experienced with destination weddings, which makes everything run smoothly.

Castell de Tamarit | Tarragona (1 hour from Barcelona)
This is one of my absolute favorite Barcelona wedding venues. I’ve visited it frequently, and the space never ceases to take my breath away. The views are simply stunning – you’d actually be getting married in a medieval castle overlooking the Mediterranean!
I’ve constantly been very pleased with their wedding planning service – super kind and professional. While it’s not technically in the Barcelona province (it’s in Tarragona), it’s merely an hour away from Barcelona Airport, making it a fantastic option for destination weddings in Barcelona.
Check out these amazing spaces! See my portfolio of weddings at Castell de Tamarit.

Castell de Santa Fiorentina | Barcelona
If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, you’ll love this one – Castell de Santa Fiorentina was actually used as a filming location for the show! This medieval castle near Barcelona is a truly cinematic Barcelona wedding venue.
I’ve photographed weddings here and the atmosphere is incredible. The castle’s stone walls, towers, and courtyards create a dramatic and romantic setting that’s hard to beat. It’s a perfect choice for couples looking for a fairytale wedding.

Hostal La Gavina | Costa Brava (1.5 hours from Barcelona)
Let me introduce you to a true classic of the Costa Brava. Hostal La Gavina is one of the most authentic and classiest 5-star hotels in the region. Unaltered by the passage of time and futile fashion trends, it offers accommodation, catering, and wedding services with old-school elegance.
If you’re planning on getting married in Spain and you’re looking for Barcelona wedding venues, La Gavina is merely an hour and a half away from Barcelona city. The coastline is just beautiful – probably the closest to your idea of an authentic Mediterranean beach.
Head over to my packages section to find out more. Remember, if none of the packages you see really fit your schedule, I’m flexible and can adapt to your needs.

Mas Palou | Vilafranca del Penedès
Located in the heart of the Penedès wine region, Mas Palou is a stunning Barcelona wedding venue surrounded by vineyards. This rustic estate offers a perfect blend of Catalan tradition and modern comfort, making it ideal for destination weddings in the Barcelona area.
I’ve photographed many weddings at Mas Palou, and the golden hour light among the vineyards is something I never get tired of. The photos always turn out magical. The venue’s garden, stone stairs, and outdoor reception area are absolutely gorgeous.

Clos La Plana | Sitges
Clos La Plana is an absolute gem among Barcelona wedding venues. Nestled among picturesque vineyards, this venue boasts a spacious area in front of its main building, meticulously restored in 1913, which is ideal for wedding receptions.
Clos La Plana is a remarkable testament to Catalan modernist architecture and holds the distinction of being a protected heritage site recognised by the Catalan government. The light here is incredible, and the vineyard setting creates a romantic atmosphere that’s hard to beat.
More recently, Melissa and Chris got married at Clos La Plana – you can see their portfolio right here.

My Wedding Photography Tips for Your Barcelona Venue
Based on my experience photographing over 50 Barcelona weddings:
- Consider the light: Choose your ceremony time based on the venue’s orientation. Morning or late afternoon light creates the most flattering photos – I always tell my couples this.
- Explore the grounds: Every venue has hidden corners perfect for intimate portraits. I always scout the location beforehand so I know exactly where to take you.
- Backup plans: Barcelona’s weather is generally reliable, but always have an indoor option for outdoor venues – just in case. I’ve seen it all!

Your Barcelona Wedding Venue Checklist
- Capacity: Does the venue comfortably accommodate your guest list?
- Catering: Is there an in-house caterer or can you bring your own? Most of the times you can manage meals yourself outside the wedding day.
- Accommodation: Can guests stay on-site or nearby? I have multiple suggestions. I was born and raised in the area.
- Accessibility: How far is it from Barcelona Airport and the city center? Always ask in our video call. I can give you all the details.
- Photography policy: Are there restrictions on where photos can be taken? (I always check this in advance)
- Backup plan: Is there an indoor space for inclement weather?
