Clos la Plana
Melissa initially reached out to me in July 2018 with a vision for her Clos la Plana wedding in Sitges. I must commend her for her great collaborative approach to wedding planning. Collaborative planning is one of my specialties, and I take pride in engaging in it right from the outset of our communication.
My extensive years of experience in the wedding industry have given me an excellent knowledge of Sitges wedding venues and wedding vendors, which I’m always excited to recommend. Please ask away in our email communications, I’m always happy to help with recommendations.
Planning a destination wedding without being physically present can be a daunting experience. I made sure that Melissa felt fully supported throughout every step of her decision-making process.
In the end, Melissa and Christopher decided to stay at one Masia while hosting the celebration and dinner at another. My dear friend and colleague Philippa was brought on board as their wedding planner and coordinator, ensuring that every detail was meticulously carried out.

And if you’re wondering whether to hire a photographer from home or someone who knows the area, I’ve written a detailed guide on why hiring a local wedding photographer in Sitges makes all the difference.
Both villas are simply splendid! Masia Casanova served as the perfect haven for pre-wedding preparations, equipped with a fully-equipped kitchen, individual bedrooms, and a refreshing swimming pool. Explore more wedding villas in Sitges.
My initial impression of Melissa, after months of email correspondence, was an enthusiastic “Wow! What a stunning woman!” Her beauty was matched by the rest of the guests and the groom himself – talk about a bunch of hot people!
We all later relocated to Clos la Plana for the ceremony and dinner. Clos la Plana is an absolute gem in Sitges’ extensive wedding venue portfolio.
Nestled among picturesque vineyards, this venue offers a spacious area in front of its main building, meticulously restored in 1913, which is ideal for wedding receptions. Clos la Plana is a remarkable testament to Catalan modernist architecture and holds the distinction of being a protected heritage site recognised by the Catalan government.

Preparations: Masia Casanova | Wedding venue: Clos la Plana | Wedding planning: Philippa Events | Videographer: One Day One Song | Make-up and hair: Teresa Snowball | Catering: Cal Blay | Photographer: Ramiro Elena
Preparations started at Masia Casanova, a spacious beautiful Masia in the hills. Before getting ready for the day, the boys obviously enjoyed a swim in the pool while the chicas started with hair and make-up in a separate wing of the house. Details are an important part of my wedding portfolio. I never forget the dress, rings, shoes… Details of the venue are also key and a fond memory of every little corner of the place.

Clos la Plana is one of the most stunning wedding venues in Sitges. The Catalan modernist architecture, the vineyards, create a truly magical setting for a destination wedding in Barcelona. This protected heritage site has been beautifully restored and offers a perfect blend of history and elegance.

The ceremony took place outdoors at Clos la Plana, surrounded by the venue’s beautiful architecture and the vineyards. Melissa walked down the aisle in a stunning gown, and the couple exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends. It was a truly emotional and beautiful moment.

There’s little I can say about the photoshoot. These two have a natural beauty to them and they knew how to relax and have fun in front of the camera. I only had to move them around the vineyards to catch the perfect light. I know this area like the back of my hand. I confess we walk our dog around these vineyards. It is that close to home.

Right in front of the main historical building there’s a large garden where cocktails and tapas are served. A typical Spanish tradition is to have a jamón specialist who will cut thin slices of cured ham in front of you. This is the kind of environment that makes destination weddings in Sitges so special.
