Hotel Miramar Barcelona Wedding

This has been the second year in a row that Fotografia Sitges is hired for the summer solstice day. June 23rd is a very special day in Catalunya. It is a big night down here in Barcelona, with fireworks, parties, people staying at the beach for the entire night and making bonfires and firing off petards.

I was also going back to Hotel Miramar Barcelona once again, which I love. Everything about this wedding venue is great. At the top of the Montjuic mountain, sights include the city of Barcelona, from Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia to the harbor and the World Trade Center.
There is a lovely garden right in front of the hotel which works great as background for a photo session. Stone walls are combined with ancient trees having the mediterranean see as a perfect romantic backdrop.

The Wedding

The ceremony was set in the hotel garden, a quiet space that happened to be covered in yellow from the acacia trees. But before all this, there was an inquiry from Oslo by the lovely Trine and Torgeir.

We started our conversation and plans in November by mail and followed it with a Skype conversation in April. This was going to be a full day wedding package with many guests and very, very elegant.
So brace yourselves because here comes a lot of pictures. It is hard to make a smaller selection with this beautiful couple in such a wonderful venue.
You will notice I have posted many black and white images. Can’t really say why but sometimes, when editing, I see some images having to look a certain way. Personally, I think they give a timeless feeling together with a touch of elegance. An elegance that was matched by the bride’s dress, veil, gloves and overall beauty. The groom did not stay behind and sported a magnificent black tuxedo with bow tie and white suspenders.
On a curious note, the grooms shoes were made in Spain. But it doesn’t stop there. A few years back, this very photographer was hired to work on Magnanni’s shoe catalog. Coincidence?
Once more, I have to thank the newlyweds, their families and friends for being so nice to me, however I am starting to believe this is a common tread in all Norwegians.
