Masia Casa del Mar
Words fail to describe this uber-cool couple from New York who celebrated their wedding in Masia Casa del Mar. I met Alexandra and Cooper for their wedding rehearsal at the wedding venue the day before. I instantly connected with both, their friends and family. Such laid-back, relaxed, and smart people, fantastic sense of humor. Once again, I just felt among friends. They all made my work so easy. On the wedding day, we shared pizza, anecdotes, recommended books… what else can you ask for? Oh, Alexandra speaks fluent Spanish and Cooper wore a custom-tailored suit with Black Sabbath’s logo in the lining (see photo further down.) It could not get any cooler.
This was my first wedding in Masia Casa del Mar and I was pleasantly surprised by the owner’s good taste in decoration. Just look at the detail photos and you will see what I mean. It was a nice touch to see bookcases filled with books with my own work! You see, I have been doing book covers for Spanish publishers for a long time.
Wedding details and decorations were carried out hand in hand by Philippa and the bride herself. The theme for the wedding was “Don’t Panic” which could be read in the stationary designed by Alexandra and big illuminated letters hand-made by Barcelona Letters. Dress code: white for boys, black for girls.
We started the couple’s photoshoot by the Masia. Just go through the venue’s gate and you are right in front of the mediterranean sea. Masia Casa del Mar also has beautiful spots to photograph. I was particularly happy with the private terrace up on the first floor. I made sure to spend a few minutes there at the end of the shoot to capture some shots of Alexandra. She looked stunning.
Group photos can be complicated when you need to quickly find a location that is evenly lit and manage a large number of people. I didn’t think the spot I chose would look as good as it did. I gotta hand it to the wedding party for such fun photos. They all instantly knew where and how to stand. This is, so far, my favorite group photo I’ve taken.
When the wedding party moved to the 80’s style indoor disco, a limbo dance instantly formed with a broomstick. A fun pack this was. It was time to head back to town so why not give some guests a ride back to their hotel?
It will be nice to go back to Masia Casa del Mar. We highly recommend this wedding venue.
