The reason our photos look the way they do

This is a very important part of the work to us at Fotografia Sitges, and it probably should be for you too, my dearest bride and groom 🙂 In the process of looking for your wedding photographer in Barcelona, you will be seeing many wedding images. It is a tough call to make the decision, there are so many of us!

Now, style is a very important part of the game. It is, after all, the first thing you look at in a photographer. As a professional photographer, weather you do weddings or any other type of work, one has to choose his own style. This style is developed in the many years of work that lead to a professional business. For the veterans like us, with more than 20 years in professional photography, this style is configured by the movies we have seen, the photographers we have admired and continue to admire, the changing technology, and last and least, trends.

This here, is a dangerous terrain. It is easy to fall into current fashions. They do look so cool now, don’t they? but… how will they look in years to come? Will I be able to pull out my wedding album 20 years from now, without cringing like we all do when looking at our childhood photos? (oh, the 80’s!)

Of course, there will be changes in fashion but your photos should last as long as possible. This is a very important stance in professional photography. It isn’t just a matter of delivering pretty images of your wedding day in Spain that will look cool on your social profiles today. A professional wedding photographer will have this in mind.

Posing

Another important characteristic of our work is the absence of staged and posed images. We prefer to call it model direction in which we will suggest certain situations for you to experiment. Whatever feels forced or uncomfortable, is out of the picture. The first thing you will hear from us is “pretend we are not here.”
